Du Bocq

A light white ale with a beautiful milky misty color (it becomes transparent in heat). Blanche de Namur is one of the most famous products of Du Bocq brewery: it was recognized as the best whitbier by the WBA in 2009, 2013 and 2014. The beer owes its name to the daughter of Count Jean de Namur, whose name was Blanche. According to the legend, King Magnus IV Eriksson met her while traveling through Europe - and was fascinated by the beauty of the young countess. The king immediately proposed to her, and in 1335 the girl went with him to Norway, where she soon became queen. It was in her honor that Du Bocq brewery named one of its best varieties.

Flavor features

The drink has a smooth and mild taste, with a bright touch of wheat and a neat acidity. There is no bitterness completely, even in the aftertaste, and in the flavor tones of fruit, spice, orange and coriander are clearly traceable.

Gastronomic combinations

In beer restaurants Blanche de Namur is often served as an aperitif or digestif. The drink is also excellent with game, dishes with sweet and sour sauces, red meat and a variety of cheeses.
