De Halve Maan

A light Belgian ale with a golden orange color and a steady foamy cap. Brugse Zot Blonde is brewed with two varieties of hops and four different malts, which ultimately gives the drink a unique taste. After bottling, it is re-hopped in the bottle, which makes its flavor even richer. Brugse Zot is produced according to the original recipe of Mr. Xavier Vanneste, the owner of De Halve Maan brewery. The variety is considered a landmark for the company - it was Brugse Zot Blonde that first hit the shelves after the Bruges brewery reopened in 2005 after a long renovation.

Taste profile

The taste is dense, with dominant sweet notes of fruit, which are in harmony with the hop bitterness, hints of yeast, allspice, herbs and spices. The aftertaste is a little bitter and in the aroma, besides fruit, yeast and hops, you can catch notes of chewing gum and cloves.

Gastronomic combinations

The drink is often served as an aperitif. Also Brugse Zot Blonde goes well with different kinds of cheese, fish dishes, salads and Thai cuisine.
