Belgian dark ale with a strength of 10.5%. It has a beautiful brownish-ruby color with a creamy hazelnut-colored foam cap. The name - “Golden Dragon” - is connected with the legendary gilded statue crowning the Ghent bell tower since the XIV century. This dragon, which came to Belgium as a war trophy, became a symbol of the city's freedom. Like its namesake, the drink stands out for its noble character. The production technology includes secondary fermentation with wine yeast, which gives a special complexity to the flavor.

Flavor characteristics

Gulden Draak Classic has a rich, multifaceted taste that opens with velvety notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee and caramelized malt, as well as hints of prunes and figs. The aftertaste is long and warming. The rich aroma has banana tones, spicy cloves, honeyed raisins and yeasty bread base, complemented by subtle accents of caramelized sugar, winter spices and juicy pear notes.

Gastronomic combinations

The perfect drink to start or end a meal. It will make an excellent pairing with stewed meat dishes, steaks with wine sauce and bitter chocolate desserts.
