<p>This is a rich and intense dark top fermentation beer brewed with a blend of special malts that gives the beer a very dark color and a complex, intense malt character.</p> <p>The taste of the beer, as well as the aroma, has strong malt notes of caramel and toffee, which are complemented by nuances of dark fruits, candy, orange zest, and spices. The sweetness is well balanced with spicy notes of bitter chocolate and bread. The aftertaste is smooth, dry, lingering.</p> <p>The history of the family brewery &ldquo;DeHalveMaan&rdquo; (&ldquo;Half Moon&rdquo;) lasts for more than 150 years. Six generations of the Meis family have been working in Bruges since 1856 with one single goal: to produce excellent, authentic beer while respecting the traditional brewing methods for which Bruges is famous.</p>
