De Halve Maan

Quality dark Belgian ale with a rich flavor and complex aroma. It has a beautiful misty red-brown color. The highlight of Brugse Zot Dubbel is the use of 6 types of malt and the world famous Jatec hops, which adds a slight bitterness to the drink. The recipe for the drink was developed by the famous brewer Xavier Vanneste, the owner of De Halve Maan. The variety became a landmark for the brewery because it was the first after the reconstruction of the brewery in the city of Bruges.

Flavor Features

The drink has a complex, balanced, smooth flavor dominated by notes of apples, cherries, raisins, molasses, caramel, nuts, toasted toast, earth, spice and yeast. Closer to the finish, a pleasant hop bitterness is added. Most of the nuances are also revealed in the aroma of the drink.

Gastronomic combinations

Brugse Zot Dubbel is often served in restaurants with cheeses such as brie, gouda, Swiss, gorgonzola, limburger and others, as well as meat dishes and chocolate.
