The brewery Corsendonk, founded by the daughter of John III in the monastery of Aud-Turnhout at the end of the 14th century, makes the drink. The production flourished for many centuries until it was destroyed during the French Revolution. Only a few centuries later the monastery, and with it the brewery, was fully restored.
