Omer Vander Ghinste

A rich ruby Belgian ale first created in 1892. Originally known as Ouden Tripel. It has a hazy brown color and a small foamy cap. The variety is a blend of two beers: a fresh top fermentation beer made with barley, wheat, hops, water and caramel malt, and an aged lambic that matures in oak barrels for a year and a half. The direction of Flanders Oud Bruin, to which this ale belongs, is one of the oldest Belgian beer styles, which is traditionally associated with West Flanders. Due to its authentic character, VanderGhinste Oud Bruin has been included in the HORARB (Supreme Council of Authentic Flemish Red-Brown Beers) list. The organization is actively seeking European recognition for this unique brew.

Flavor characteristics

The drink has a harmonious taste with a slight sourness in the first note, which is then replaced by a spicy bitterness and smoothly passes into a pleasant sweetness. The aroma opens with notes of dark fruits and cherries, complemented by malt tones, which gives the beer a special depth.

Gastronomic combinations

The variety will make a good pair with cheeses, roasted meat and chocolate.
