Omer VanderGhinste

A Belgian red ale with a rich history. It has a beautiful misty-brown color and a small foamy cap. It was first brewed in 1892 as Ouden Tripel, but later it was renamed. It is made by blending young, top-fermented beers made from barley, wheat, hops, water and caramelized sugar, and lambic, which was aged in oak barrels for a year and a half. Vander Ghinste Oud Brun is one of the oldest Flanders ales in Belgium and is part of a special Board that curates authentic varieties of the destination.

Taste Features

The taste is rich and balanced, with a subtle acidity in the beginning which is followed by a spicy bitterness, which turns into sweetness. The aroma is bright, with dark tones of cherry and fruit, with a hint of malt.

Gastronomic combinations

Vander Ghinste Oud Brun makes a great pair with chocolate and desserts on its basis. In beer restaurants it can also be accompanied by grilled meat and a variety of cheeses.
