Belgian Trappist Chimay Gold

<p>One of seven authentic Trappist beers. It is a pure malt ale brewed according to the original recipe in the Bi&egrave;res de Chimay brewery at Scourmont Abbey. The composition of the drink has remained unchanged since the beginning of its production: water, sugar, barley malt, yeast, hops, bitter orange peel and coriander. Chimay Gold is not filtered or pasteurized, but undergoes re-fermentation in bottles after bottling.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Flavor characteristics</strong></p> <p>The drink has a fresh, soft flavor, which shows tones of wheat and light malt, Belgian yeast, as well as subtle hints of citrus, flowers, hops, pepper and nutmeg. The aroma is intense, with notes of malt, yeast, citrus, spices and candied lemon peel.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Gastronomic combinations</strong></p> <p>Chimay Gold will make an excellent gastronomic pair with various cheeses, especially cream cheeses. It can also be served with dishes with an emphasis on aromatic herbs or garlic.</p>
